Cooper University Hospital offers a one-year PGY2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency in conjunction with Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at Saint Joseph’s University.
This residency further refines skills attained during a PGY1 residency, specifically skills in (1) providing direct patient care in a critical care setting, (2) conducting critical care related research, and (3) educating Doctor of Pharmacy students. Trainees will be prepared to be critical care pharmacy specialists and academicians. The resident will participate in didactic and experiential education of Doctor of Pharmacy students while completing a teaching certificate program. Certification opportunities include: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Basic Life Support (BLS); ACLS instructor; BLS instructor. The resident will develop a manuscript appropriate for submission to a peer-reviewed journal.
