Personal Interests:

My name is Alisa Girard and I grew up in central New Jersey. I graduated from Gettysburg College with a major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a minor in Studio Art. After completing a Master Degree in Biomedical Science at Rutgers University, I attended Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where I co-founded the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Interest Group. Before graduating, I dedicated two years to research at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where I served as a research fellow in the Craniomaxillofacial Research Group and the Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation Lab. As one of the newest plastic surgery residents at Cooper University Health Care, I aim to contribute new research and medical illustrations to the literature. I am pursuing an academic career in plastic surgery, with broad interests that include microsurgery, hand surgery, craniofacial surgery, medical education, and mentorship. My hobbies include weightlifting, disc golf, film, and art (e.g., cartooning, painting, sculpture).
