The Cooper University Health Care Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency Program participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). All applications must be submitted through ERAS.

PGY-1 Internship

This is an Advanced (A) position. Applicants are responsible for separately securing a PGY-1 internship year (typically surgery) through ERAS. The internship year is not provided by this program.

Application Requirements

  • Common Application Form (via ERAS)
  • Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE / Dean's Letter)
  • Three Letters of Recommendation (at least one from a faculty interventional radiologist or diagnostic radiologist is strongly recommended)
  • Official Medical School Transcripts
  • Personal Statement
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK score reports (Step 3 if available), or COMLEX equivalent

Selection Process

All applications are reviewed by the Program Director and IR faculty. Invitations to interview are extended based on academic performance, letters of recommendation, personal statement, and evidence of genuine commitment to and interest in the field of Interventional Radiology. We welcome applications from candidates with a range of academic backgrounds who demonstrate the intellectual curiosity, clinical drive, and personal character to thrive in our program.

Interview Format

Interviews are conducted annually during the fall interview season. Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the Program Administrator for specific details regarding the upcoming interview season schedule and format.
