The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Cooper University Hospital participates in Residency CAS and all information is processed through this system without exception. Information regarding the Residency CAS application process and timeline for our program is available below. All positions will be offered through NRMP; participation with National Residency Matching Program required.

Residency CAS

 Applications must contain the following information in order for your application to be considered:

  • Common application form
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Medical school transcript
  • Dean’s letter
  • Three original letters of recommendation including one SLOE
  • Personal statement describing your training goals and future career plans
  • USMLE reports (1 and 2)
  • ECFMG certification (IMG only)

The program director and additional faculty members will review applicant files. Invitation for interview will be based upon their recommendations.

Program Eligibility

Eligibility for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program requires an MD or DO degree received within the past five years and a minimum USMLE score of 220 or COMLEX score of 600, on first attempt. Individuals accepted for a position in the program must be U.S. citizen, classified as a resident alien, or hold a J-1 visa.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are following the recommendations set forth by The Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) by using a virtual platform to conduct resident interviews in the 2026–27 recruitment process.

Virtual interview dates for the 2026-2027 season are as follows:

  • Friday, November 6, 2026
  • Friday, November 13, 2026
  • Friday, November 20, 2026
  • Friday, December 4, 2026
  • Friday, December 11, 2026
  • Friday, January 8, 2027
