Thank you for your interest in the Family Medicine Residency at Cooper University Health Care. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to explore our program and all that we offer! CUH is a pillar of the Camden community, offering quality care to the region, including the underserved communities surrounding the hospital. Residents care for the residents of Camden in multiple contexts, engaging with our community via unique educational programming, as well as through patient care. Residents have access to all of CUH’s resources, including scholarship and research opportunities as well as the ability to work with and learn from every specialty. Lastly, residents will benefit from the amazing educational resources that come from partnering with Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. Family Medicine has a large scope of practice and our residents get to experience all that this specialty has to offer, while also having the opportunity to specialize their experience by choosing an educational Track.
Our program is 3 years long with 10 residents in each class. Our residents have the opportunity to work and learn alongside residents from many other specialties including internal medicine, pediatrics, OBGYN, emergency medicine, and others. We offer the full range of educational experiences from inpatient medicine to ambulatory, L&D to pediatrics, and urgent care to community outreach. We work to bring commonly marginalized populations to the foreground ensuring that our graduates can give high-quality, inclusive patient-centered care to everyone in the community.
Residency education can be challenging, requiring dedication and a desire to learn. Our program is dedicated to creating a learning environment that both inspires lifelong learners, and prepares our graduates for fulfilling careers. In order to accomplish this, we are dedicated to the wellness, diversity, equity, and inclusion of our learners. Our residents are empowered to have a voice in the shaping of their program and are encouraged to make a positive impact on our community.
We have put our collective passion for the education of future Family Medicine Physicians into the creation of this program and look forward to sharing that vision with our applicants.
